Ethereum 2.0 Topaz Released This Weekend
The development team from Prysmatic Labs announced that the launch of the new version of the ETH 2.0 testnet should take place on April 18 or 19. 2020.
Topaz will be the fourth (after Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond) phase zero iteration future version of Ethereum. It will need to cover the full network 2.0 configuration as well as reflect its scale and parameters as much as possible.
With the help of Sapphire, validators will be able to deposit only 3.2 ETH, but in order to participate, they will need to collect all 32 ETH in total. Since yesterday, the Prysmatic Labs team has already begun to abandon their old validators, sending new Genesis deposits.
Despite the ability to interact with multiple clients in accordance with the latest specifications for phase 0, the official version of the project’s multi-client network will still be Diamond.
Recall that earlier the Ethereum community protested against activating the ProgPoW algorithm.
